In fact, since we are accountable, we are so far in debt for our actions that the only way we can be saved is through the action of another person, namely, Jesus, who lived the blameless life we should have lived, and died the death we were ultimately accountable for. It's because of this, that God gets all the glory in our salvation, yet we are accountable for not receiving the free gift of His Son Jesus, who lived, died, and resurrected on our behalf.
